Bushy Park Barbados will provide the dramatic backdrop for a spectacular floodlit start to Sol Rally Barbados 2019, the 30th running of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event, on Friday, May 31; gates will open at 4.30pm, with parking available in both north and south car parks.
Patrons will see the near-record entry of approaching 100 cars three times between 6.30pm and around 10.00pm, as the 6.25-kilometre special stage from Golden Grove will finish inside the circuit. Once the cars burst in to view in Pit Lane, the route will use various elements of the International Circuit, not always in the regular clockwise direction, including all three of the Kart Links, a Hairpin on the Clubhouse Straight and the Rallycross Bridge.
In addition, the venue will host ‘Rally Central’ for the third year and also be the Restart and Service Park for Sunday’s nine special stages in the south-east of the island. Rally Central is the storage and service facility managed by the BRC to accommodate international and regional competitors; it provides a secure location in which the cars are stored once they are released from the Bridgetown Port, with the Rally Office, storage for spares and tyres and canteen and washroom facilities on site, along with track time available for testing.
Action starts – 6.00pm
